Biography
Professor Brent Webster, Music Instructor and Professor of Guitar Studies, founded the guitar studio in the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú Department of Music in the fall of 2009. Mirroring his own diverse musical endeavors, Brent’s studio offers instruction in classical guitar and commercial guitar, which incorporates elements of jazz, rock, blues, and country. Brent also teaches Musicianship for Music Business majors and Music Theater majors and minors, and directs the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú Guitar Ensemble and the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú Commercial Music Ensemble.
Brent has performed throughout the southeastern United States, and also throughout Ecuador, where he studied and toured with Maestro Terry Pazmiño. He has performed with the Todd Hill Jazz Orchestra since 2010, and regularly performs in the classical style throughout the region. In addition, he is a fan of Music Theater, and has composed, performed, directed, and acted in several venues.
Brent has a B.A. of Music (Composition emphasis) from ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú and a Master’s Degree in Guitar Performance from the University of Kentucky. He has studied with Maestro Terry Pazmiño, Dr. Dieter Hennings, Mr. David Russell, Dr. Nicholas Goluses, Dr. Stanley Yates, Dr. Stephen Mattingly, Mr. Tengyue Zhang, Mr. Adam Holzman, Mr. Corey Christiansen, and Mr. Andy Gurley.
