Senior Scholars

If you are a senior citizen interested in taking a course at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú, you may be eligible for tuition waivers through our Senior Scholars program.

Eligibility

The eligibility requirements include the following:

  1. Age 65 or older at the time of application
  2. Copy of Kentucky drivers license 
  3. Proof of Kentucky residency for 1 or more years - date issued on KY Driver's License

  1. Complete the Senior Scholars Application
  2. Make a copy of your KY Driver's License.
  3. Submit the completed application and copy of driver's license to:

Note: If you are seeking a degree, you must also request official transcripts be sent to ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State. 

Enroll

Enroll in courses at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State.

  1. Upon receiving letter of admission:
    1. Call Alison Marshall at 270.809.5796 to find out what courses are available for the upcoming semester and to discuss the enrollment and tuition waiver process.
    2. Select the class that you wish to take and complete the Course Registration Form.
    3. Contact the class instructor to receive permission to take the class and obtain his/her signature on the form.
    4. Ask instructor to email the signed form to amarshall@murraystate.edu
  2. Send the completed Course Registration Form to:

Additional steps

After you are admitted and enrolled, don't forget to purchase textbooks and register for parking.

  1. Purchase textbooks
    1. Visit the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State Bookstore on the 2nd floor of the Curris Center or
    2. .
  2. Register your vehicle with the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State Parking Office through the  parking channel and to access the NuPark System.  
    Note: $200 fee covers August-August parking on campus. 
    All students (full-time or part-time, regional, web) who operate a motor vehicle on the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State campus must properly register their vehicle as this is your virtual permit. Annual renewal of parking registration is required. 
  3. Obtain a ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State RacerCard - Your ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State I.D.  in the RacerCard Office, 3rd Floor Sparks Hall ($20 fee - one time only)
    The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Bring your M Number and another photo ID.
