Student Organizations
Sock and Buskin
Founded in 1926, Sock and Buskin is the oldest student organization on the campus of ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú. Until the early 1960's Sock and Buskin was the sole producing organization for theatre at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú. With the completion of the Doyle Fine Arts Center and the establishment of an on-going producing program within the curricular framework of the Drama Department—now the Department of Theatre—Sock and Buskin's mission evolved into what it is today, a strong support system for the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State Theatre.
Further purposes of Sock and Buskin are:
- to develop and encourage loyalty to the Alma Mater
- to aid and assist in Department of Theatre productions
- to develop an appreciation for theatre in the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State community
Sock and Buskin members can be found on the stage, in the booth, behind the scenes and in the box office for any production, whether it's in the Robert E. Johnson Theatre, the Studio Theatre or Lovett Auditorium!
Alpha Psi Omega
The department has an active chapter of Alpha Psi and points are awarded to the most active students who would like to become a member of this organization. After the accumulation of the necessary points, you can be inducted into this honorary fraternal organization.
