ESL Endorsement
In keeping with Kentucky Department of Education guidelines, a student who holds or is earning a certificate to teach at the elementary, middle school or secondary level may seek a K-12 certificate endorsement in English as a Second Language by completing the following 12 semester hours of course work:
- ENG 618 Introduction to Linguistic Science
- TSL 600 Methods and Materials for Teaching ESL/EFL
- TSL 609 Foundations of Second Language Acquisition
- TSL 634 Language and Culture

The listed requirements provide an example of what is applicable to most students entering ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú at the present time. Criteria as they may relate to individual students may vary. The primary source is the ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State Bulletin applicable at the time of the student enrollment.
