School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The Counselor Education (CNS) Program at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú will help you build your professional identity as a Professional School Counselor or a Licensed Professional Counselor. As a professional counselor, you will contribute significantly to the mental health and holistic wellbeing of the clients and students that you encounter. Program options include a Master of Arts in School Counseling, Education Specialist in School Counseling, and Education Specialist in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Career Outlook – According to the United States Department of Labor:

  • Employment of substance abuse, behavioral disorder, and mental health counselors is projected to grow 22 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. Employment growth is expected as people continue to seek addiction and mental health counseling.
  • Employment of school and career counselors is projected to grow 8 percent from 2018 to 2028, faster than the average for all occupations. Increasing school enrollments is expected to lead to employment growth of these workers.

Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)

The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditations (CHEA), has granted accreditation to the following programs in the Department of Educational Studies, Leadership, and Counseling at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú: Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Ed.S. degree) through March 31, 2031.
