Welcome to the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications. JMC students graduate prepared to excel in the media-related career of their choice. Please take a few minutes to explore our majors in advertising, journalism, public relations and television production.
The JMC department is home to the student media. The ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State News publishes every Friday during fall and spring semesters and is on the web at . ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú TV 11 airs several student productions during the fall and spring semesters on the local cable system.
The JMC department is one of only 119 programs in the United States fully-accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC). In May 2010, the department received its most recent six-year reaccreditation. Programs, classes, and majors are reviewed frequently and updated to reflect national academic and professional needs.
