The Shoe Tree near Pogue Library

The Shoe Tree is an ongoing tradition for couples who met at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State and went on to get married.

I met my wonderful wife and best friend Beth (Tems), in the spring of 1969. We dated all through our years at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú, graduating in 1972. We were married in May 1973 and having been commissioned through ROTC were stationed in the Army through out the USA, to include Hawaii, and almost seven years in Europe. We raised two terrific daughters and after 20 years active duty and travel, we settled near Evansville, Indiana, where she taught middle school for 18 years. But I lost my best friend in 2011 to cancer after 38 years of marriage. Beth was a great and loving mother, a super wife, and as an outstanding teacher, a great representative of ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú.
