Jon and Lindsay Able

Racer SoleMates Lindsay, '12 & '19, and Jon, '11, Able met on campus and have been married for more than five years. "The first time I stepped foot on ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State's campus it was for orientation in the summer of 2008. I had applied, been accepted, and enrolled in a school I had never even seen, 3 hours from my home of Bardstown, KY. In reflection, I know that was divine intervention taking me to the school that would shape my career, personal growth, and ultimately, my future marriage. In August I moved into Richmond college on the far end of the 4th floor hall, where the lack of elevator meant the stairwell door was close by, swinging open and closed at all hours of the day and night. That same month Jon Able was returning to Richmond for the 2nd year, and moving in directly below on the 1st floor. Anyone who has ever met Jon knows him to be exceptionally witty and chock full of hilarity. He doesn't know a whisper and will commonly bust out in nonsensical songs, jokes, and his distinctive laugh, which is what he is doing most of the time. Jon's charisma overflows in most rooms and spaces, and in the fall of 2008 after a mutual friend introduced us, anytime I would hear laughing coming up the stairwell from four floors down, I knew it was Jon. It didn't take long for his warmth and smile to pull me in and anytime I heard the 1st floor boys hanging out, I would come down to say hi. We spent a year being in the same friend group in Richmond before we started dating. We both work for Madisonville Community College and have twin nieces and one fur-baby, Gemma."
