Alex and Marli Green

The Shoe Tree outside of Pogue Library

The Shoe Tree is on of ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State's best tradition where couples who met while at ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú State and then later on got married.

Alex was destined to be a Racer at birth. Both parent are alumni, getting engaged in Pogue, his mom serving as a Regent now. Marli is from Far East KY and received a scholarship that paid for any in state public university. She wanted to go as far away from home for school for the adventure and ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú was as far as she could get. Only 2 years apart, we were both in the same major, Greek, served on student government, student nutrition association, and student ambassadors at the same time but never exchanged a word. Many year/states/and life changes later we connected thanks to mutual friends we had because of ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú. Our Racer pride was a great catalyst for our budding relationship. We are now going into our second year of marriage, happy to be the biggest Ja fans living in the Memphis area.
